Independent Escort –v- Escort Agency
So you want to become and escort and can't decide whether you should be an independent escort or join an escort agency? Well let's look at the facts and your options. There are good things and bad things about both choices and the decision you make could affect your experience of working as an escort, so you need to get it right.
We think that almost anyone who is already and escort would probably say that if you have never worked as an escort before it's not a bad idea to start with an agency. Since most large towns have at least 2 escort agencies, and probably more, it's not always easy to find the right agency first time. Research is your best friend here!
First of all, for whatever town you want to escort in, find a list of the local escort agencies. Do a search on the internet. You'll get a list of escort agencies come up and you then need to browse their sites and particularly their escorts gallery to get an idea of the sort of escorts they promote. Remember that it's likely the photos you will be looking at are professional photos, so don't be put off it you don't think you're as glamorous as their existing escorts!
You can get an idea of the money you will make by looking at the escort's fees, which are probably listed on her profile page. As a rule of thumb an escort agency will take £50 off your first hour booking fee and the rest is yours. Now, I expect you're wondering what they want your £50 for. And this is where the main difference between working as an independent and working for an agency come in.
The escort agency, particularly if you have found them on page 1 of Google, will be spending quite a bit of their income on promoting their agency. Nobody's agency makes it to page one of Google these days without the help of a webmaster or other advertising and promotions. How much the agency are paying out each month to keep their website on page one will vary, but it will be a fair chunk of money.
Secondly they will be employing receptionists (if they are a large agency) or if they are a small agency the owner may be doing that part herself. Receptionists are often paid a commission on top of a basic salary for every job they book, so that's another part of the agency's money gone. Thirdly they will be paying for advertising with other internet directories or other types of media advertising, and that doesn't come cheap when you are a business. Lastly an agency may be supply security for its escorts or drivers. Not all escort agencies deal with this in the same way, but most have some kind of expense in this area. Optionally, some may pay for all or some of your photographs to go on their website.
Do It Yourself Or Join an Escort Agency
If you work for an escort agency then you don't have to worry about getting bookings or arranging your time. You just let the agency know when you are going to be available and they will make bookings on your behalf. Neither do you have to worry about setting up your own website or doing your own marketing and promotions.
The downside of working for an escort agency is that you don't have any say in the clients. The agency will make the booking, they will do their best to make sure that the client is genuine, that they have a record of the location (if you are making outcalls) and they will do what they can to ensure you're safe. This is often done by a phone call when you arrive and another when you leave. The other, only slightly downside is that you don't fix your fee, the agency will decide. We say only slightly as most escorts in a particular area will charge roughly the same. Some top independent or even agency escorts may be charging a lot more but it does depend on your experience and how good you are at your job. If you work through an escort agency they do expect you to be reliable. Otherwise they will probably drop you and that won't do your reputation as an escort any good. Even in quite large cities you'll find that escort agencies know what's going on at each other's agency so a girl with a poor record for reliability might find it hard to get accepted by another agency in the area.
If you decide to work as an independent escort then of course it's up to you what fee you set. And in theory at least, you get to keep all of it. However, paying for your own website and doing your own website maintenance or paying someone else to do it can soon mount up. And of course it's no good having a website it people can't find it, so you may need to pay someone (a webmaster) to do that job too, unless you want to try it yourself, which can be time consuming and frustrating.
There are sites where you can advertise your services for free. Depending on where you live there may or may not be stiff competition. That means it may take some time before you start getting any regular clients or regular income. If you are just working as an escort now and then, when the mood takes you or for just a bit of extra money, working as an independent can be a good idea. It can also work well once you have built up a reputation. You can choose your own hours, say no to clients you don't like the sound of and fix your own fees. If however you are going to be dependent on your income as an escort then starting out as an independent may be difficult.
The advice seems to be generally that if this is your first go at working as an escort you are probably better off starting with an escort agency rather than as an independent escort. However, do choose the agency you join carefully. Make sure you meet with the owner and have a chat about how they run their agency, the hours you'll be expected to do and their charges to you. If possible, speak to more than one agency so you've got a comparison.
